Dubai is mysterious. It is magical. It is exotic. You either Love it or hate it! It has been two years for me so far and I have to admit that my time living in this country is still challenging, but it is a reminder to myself that the best gift we can make to ourselves is stepping out of our comfort zones and explore new lands!
In these two years I gorged myself on Hummus (حُمُّص) and Ful Medames (فول مدمس), drank my weight in Karak Tea (شاي كرك) , explore the city on foot, by bus and metro and absorbed its sights and sounds.
From the exotic and mysterious deserts, to the gardens and the coasts, Dubai is a wonderful city that captivates all traveler’s senses! Love it or hate it… You will always remember this unique trip… trust me…

Have you ever Loved a place, but could not figure out why? In May, I visited for the first time ,
in two years of being living in the United Arab Emirates, the “Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood” !
This “neighborhood” is a traditional district located in the heart of the city!
It is a pure reflection of what life used to look like for the Emiratis back in time (from the mid 19th century till the 1970s).
The yellow lights will take you in an other world! A world so sweet and nostalgic,
that you will almost feel that it popped out of a fairytale! The aromas of the freshly brewed coffee,
as well as the soft smell of the spices and saffron in the air are creating an oriental atmosphere that
you will feel-for sure- like a modern Aladdin starring in your own “1001 Arabian Nights”!
Most of Dubai’s heritage is found in Al Fahidi! A lot of specialized museums,
cultural and artistic societies as well as markets known as “souqs” (سوق) are located in the district!
The cost to visit the majority of the museums or exhibitions
does not exceed the amount of aed 10 which is equal to 3 usd still thinking of it?
